Coll indicates the fruits of the life of the mind. Wisdom is a kind of knowledge quilt, meaning wisdom is many pieces of knowledge sewn together in a beautiful pattern. The wisdom of music is the interplay of a thousand small parts that come together to create a unified expression of sound. The wisdom of history comes from seeing its overarching patterns and how they can predict the future. Wisdom is not just the collection of a bunch of trivia but a deep understanding of how smaller forces become a whole. Plenty of people have knowledge, and they often gain titles for it like “PhD”, yet they have no wisdom. Knowledge can be unstable and in certain instances knowing a vast array of facts and trivia is not useful (it can be the mental equivalent of clutter); wisdom has permanence and transcends time.

Coll means putting the final piece down and solving the puzzle. Good decisions based in deep-rooted experience. Opportunity because of intuitive, adaptable strategy. The ability to live a fuller life because of lessons that originate from experience and the resulting clairvoyance of multiple outcomes.

Drawing Coll represents a bird’s eye view of the situation or era in which you dwell. There is an accumulation of knowledge that has given rise or is in the process to becoming wisdom. Hard work on the mental plane pays off in an easy way with words, the ability to think deeply, or the mastery of a field of study.

Questions to ask when you draw Coll:
-What have I learned from my greatest mistakes?
-How is creativity connected to wisdom?

Coll ill-dignified excess: Oversharing and false wisdom
If you have a piece of wisdom, beware of throwing your wisdom around with people who cannot possibly appreciate it. There are humans who, when confronted with someone who challenges them intellectually, become absolutely determined to remain ignorant and possibly hostile. Or it could be you — are you sure you’re not being arrogant about what you know? If an ill-dignified Coll shows up, perhaps you are forced to deal with a know-it-all blowhard who enjoys the sound of her own voice and convinces herself that because people listen to her politely, they are mesmerized by her profound opinions. Minimize time around that sort as much as you are able!

Coll ill-dignified dearth: Not enough wisdom to share
The fight’s not over yet; the puzzle is still unsolved. This side of Coll suggests you don’t have enough pieces to move on and transcend, or a difficult situation that defies understanding. Perhaps you don’t know a subject or skill, but out of insecurity you pretend you know more about it than you do so you can gain the respect and trust of others. Maybe there is an unwise person trying to draw you into their life in order to get you to solve their problems — Coll is saying back away. Fearing failure, you must retreat and take no risks. This could be for the best… or not. You’ll have to think it over.

“Those who have knowledge, don’t predict. Those who predict, don’t have knowledge.” -Lao Tzu

“It’s the beauty within us that makes it possible for us to recognize the beauty around us. The question is not what you look at but what you see.” -Henry David Thoreau
